One wise way to achieve Nirvana is to go for a temple visit in India. Nevertheless, the beauty of the country boasts of a number of religious shrines and centers, all of which are sprinkled with the mythic stories of God and Goddesses. Gujarat, situated in the western zone of the country is one of the popular Hindu Pilgrimage center in the whole world.
Lets have a look into some major Pilgrimage in Gujarat.
Dwarkadish temple:
Dedicated to Lord Krishna, this temple is situated in the the Jamnagar district of Gujarat. Devotes believes that their Charm Dham Yatra ends up, here. Also known as Jagad Mandir, this temple measures about 170 feet in height and is supported by 60 pillars. The temple holds the two doors, with the entrance door as Swarga Dwara and the exit door the Moksha Dwara.
Somnath temple:
Located 5 kms away from Veraval Beach in Gujarat, Somnath temple is among the must-visit center of the state. Mythic history indicates that the temple was built by the God of Moon- Somraj and was rebuilt several times by Ravana, Krishna and Bhimdev. Beside offering prayer before the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, the temple premise also offers the spectacular sight of the great Arabian Sea.
Ambaji temple:
Ambaji Shakti pith dedicated to Amba Mata is nestled in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat. The temple hold no images and devotes believe to worship the golden Yantra embellished with 51 shlokas. The length and breadth of this holy shrine is inscribed with precious marbles and religious saga. Palitana temple:
The most sacred Palitana temples is situated on on Shetrunjaya hills in Gujarat. The holy premises holds a cluster of 863 small temple, all furnished with exquisite collection of marbles. It has been learnt of the holy aura, here fuses the strong faith and belief of Jain religion and attracts the Jain followers from all over the world
Akshardham temple:
Unlike the other temples of Gujarat, Akshardham temple of Gujarat features a package of entertainment, education and enlightenment. This holy shrine is situated in the capital Ahmadabad and is devoted to Lord Swaminarayan, an epoch maker(1781 to 1830). It was built by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, recently in 1992 and is the largest temple in the state. It is highly remarkable for its great height(108 feet) and its 1.2 ton gold plated image of Lord Swaminarayan.
